Thanks for stopping by! My name is Daniella and I am a Birmingham outdoor family photographer.
An outdoor shoot is a perfect opportunity to get natural and authentic images of the whole family. Children thrive in large, outdoor spaces and it allows them the opportunity to expend that extra energy, play and be themselves. For the adults and sometimes the kids having photos can be a daunting experience and that is perfectly normal. My outdoor shoots are designed to be relaxed and fun and an opportunity to explore. That way the kids pick up on the energy and it ends up being a fun time out for everyone with some lovely photos at the end rather than a formal photo shoot. My photography is very natural and I often get my best photos when no one realises I’m taking them!
Children fascinate me and watching them engaging with their natural surroundings is a privilege. No one shoot is ever the same even if it takes place in the exact location because children react, engage and explore in different ways and that makes the shoot exciting and different every time. Remembering the moments when everyone was laughing and feeling relaxed are the ones that will be cherished in years to come by everyone.
Where will our outdoor family shoot take place?
I offer outdoor family shoots in both Birmingham and London. I have some beautiful location suggestions in both areas but will happily do your shoot at a location of your choice if you have a specific place in mind.
We find the idea of a photoshoot a bit daunting, how will we know what to do?
It is completely understandable and perfectly normal to feel unsure or nervous about having your photos taken. The idea is for us to genuinely be out in nature and explore, not take it too seriously and to have a really nice time! That way the kids pick up on the energy and it ends up being a fun time out that everyone enjoys with some beautiful photos to remember it by!
How will we know how to pose?
As you will see from my outdoor portfolio my photography is very natural and I often get my best photos when no one realises I’m taking them. There are of course times when I will need to direct things a little bit so that we do get some group photos. These don’t have to be smiling at the camera but I always make sure to get a few of those too. I will be there to guide you and offer suggestions for those.
What if my kids aren't co-operating or if they are playing up on the day?
I don’t ever mind if a child is having a moment or feeling off, it’s absolutely no problem at all. I find that the less emphasis we put on them having to smile or look at the camera the more they relax and behave naturally which is what we want.
An outdoor family shoot not only results in beautiful images of everyone in the family in front of the camera but it is also a fun experience out with the whole family.
