Thank you for visiting Daniella Staub photography. My name is Daniella and I am a professional, fully trained newborn photographer based in Birmingham. My photography studio is located at The Custard Factory in Digbeth where I am honoured to capture your new baby's first days of life.
As a mother I am truly able to appreciate the importance of capturing these very early days of your baby's life.
A newborn photography session is about many things. A lot of new parents bring their babies to me to capture the precious but fleeting moment when they're the smallest they will ever be, yet to unfurl and still smelling 'new' in a way words can't capture. This is my privilege. But I see my role as more ; I strive to make the shoot itself an oasis of calm in the chaotic flurry of new life, for the new parents to rest. This is my pleasure. Then long after the day parent and child together can hold the photos and reflect, and be amazed at how much is different and the same. To remember the tenderness they share. That is my hope.
Your baby is in safe hands! I am a fully insured and trained newborn photographer and you and your baby's safety and wellbeing are paramount to me. With over 10 years of being both a school teacher, professional nanny and children's photographer I am confident in handling newborns and ensuring their safety at all times. You baby's photoshoot is the perfect opportunity to sit back, relax and have a break whilst watching your little one having their photos taken with lots of love.

Where is your studio based?
My studio is based at the Custard Factory in Birmingham.
Where should I park?
North Yard car park and Trinity Street car park at the Custard Factory are the closest and easiest places to park. North Yard car park is the closest. Both are pay and display and can be paid for on the Just Park app.
When should I book my newborn session?
You can book your newborn session at any time during your pregnancy. People often book close to the time of their 20 week scan but anytime right up until and just after your birth is absolutely fine. Booking earlier just ensures that you get the day that suits you best as sessions are subject to availability.
Can parents have photos with the baby too?
Absolutely! If parents would like photos with baby we do this at the end of the session. Please note that the space is fairly small so this is limited to two adults. Please let me know if your needs differ.
How old should my baby be for their photoshoot?
Ideally your baby should be between 7 - 14 days for their photoshoot. This helps to get those dreamy, sleepy images as babies are still very flexible from being in the womb. If this time frame is not possible for you, babies can still be photographed but the images may be slightly different and just as lovely. It is likely that baby may be more alert and awake and this can make for equally lovely and engaging images.
What should I dress my baby in for the photos?
As part of the studio experience, I provide beautiful wraps, blankets and knitted outfits. Many of my images show lots of lovely baby skin so there is no need to bring anything. If you have a special teddy or headband/hat that you would like to incorporate in an image please feel free to bring that along.
What should parents and siblings wear for the photoshoot?
Light/neutral colours are best for parents and siblings to wear for their photos. Creams/oatmeals/beige and browns work really well. Please avoid any patterns, logos or busy designs and plain white. Upper bodies will be the focus in the image but light coloured trousers or jeans work well for the lower half.
